According to the Implementation Plan for “Intelligent Manufacturing 100” Projects, issued by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology in 2017 with the purpose of supporting the launch of 100 intelligent manufacturing application and demonstration projects, a total of 60 “benchmark enterprises” will be selected by 2020 to represent industry models and guide the development of intelligent manufacturing in Beijing – especially in terms of intelligent production line and smart factory.
30 benchmark enterprises were already selected in 2017 and 2018.
Being recognised as Beijing Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprise will lead to significant priority and endorsement by the local municipal administration to implement national-level programmes.
What are the benefits?

International participation: opportunities and figures
The programme seems to present very good opportunities to international actors: 6 out of 15 enterprises selected in 2017 as “Beijing Intelligent Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprise”, were, in fact, foreign-invested enterprises. These figures were confirmed again in 2018, with 3 out of 12 being FIEs. A few examples include: Bayer Healthcare Company Ltd.; Bosch Rexroth (Beijing) Hydraulic Co., Ltd.; Schneider Electric (China) Co., Ltd.; Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd.; Beijing ABB LV Installation Materials Co., Ltd.; GE Hangwei Medical Systems Co., Ltd. (Sino-US JV); etc.
